Imagine Dragons have released a new track, “Warriors,” recorded specifically for Riot Games’ phenomenally popular League of Legends video game.
According to a tweet from the band, the Las Vegas foursome took a break from their forthcoming album to record the song for their favorite game. The song is currently available as a free download on the League of Legends’ website.
The backdrop for the new song is an animated action video built around scenes from the online battle arena game.
The premise? “The battle begins, and sixteen teams across the globe are fighting towards one goal – to win the League of Legends World Championship,” explains the game’s official site. “To kick off the start of the action, we set out to craft a war cry to rally behind. Whether you’re a solo queue warrior or fighting off the LCS jitters – every moment counts.”
